About English Department
Department of English was established in the year-1956, and has been striving hard to achieve and accomplish its goals and objectives in both academic and as well as extra- curricular and extension activities. The Department endeavours to provide the students with proper knowledge in English. The department aims at giving the students practice in word accent, rhythm in sentences, intonation, consonants and vowels to improve their pronunciation, develop their conversation and expression skills and fluency through real life situations and role plays and to enhance their vocabulary, discussion and presentation skills. The department apart from academic oriented works it even helps them to prepare well for interview and group discussions needed for career by conducting sessions in GD and mock interviews. To enhance the quality of teaching and to give exposure to ICT learning methods, we have set up an English Language Laboratory with a view to developing communication skills of students. At present department has offered UG Course- B.Sc, B.C.A, B.Sc (Hon's). department is also known for conducting various seminar and special lecture concern to language and literature At preset dept has six faculties who make all effort to keep the students informed and aware of the recent trends in English subject through inculcating the art of the English language and literature
